Job Description

EDUCATION

  • Technical diploma in Mechanical Engineering; a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is preferred.

SKILLS

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Deep knowledge of drawings interpretation, tolerancing; and related specifications
  • High Knowledge and experience of surface characterization and drawing/spec requirements
  • Advanced competencies using/programming contact roughness meter and magnification instruments.
  • High Knowledge and experience of grinding and polishing abrasives and tools in different fields of application.
  • High competence in tumbling process, media and compound available on the market and also in different fields
  • High competence in stream finishing machines and their applications. High knowledge in media, compounds, cost and recipe results
  • Understanding of majority of coating customer reqs. Knowledge of type of application (manual vs automatic), fixtures and masking solutions, type of curing, coating evaluation. Able to read/evaluate recipes and datacards.
  • Knowledge of shot peening technologies and main parameters
  • High knowledge of blasting technology, machines, performance, parameters
  • Knowledge of CM process (chemicals, parameters, plants)
  • Ability to support PFMEAs, assess process capability risks and assist in the development control plans.
  • Understanding of laboratory testing
  • Base understanding of material deformation and heat treatment implications 
  • Capability to develop and apply procedures to the company's processes. Capability to support external audit.
  • Good knowledge of NX CAD system and usage integrated in the PLM 
  • Good knowledge of Excel with capability to apply formulas and graphic tools
  • Good usage of MS Office Suite

EXPERIENCE

  • At least 5 years of experience in manufacturing environments, particularly in metalworking; prior experience with grinding, finishing, and special processes is highly desirable.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Analyze the designs of the final product to be manufactured and define the best finishing process and technology to manufacture the product
  • Design the finishing MoM for the realization of the final components and assure that the process repeatedly produces dimensionally compliant pieces
  • Take the necessary corrective actions required to resolve any non-conformities
  • Engineer finishing MoMs to manufacture blades and other metal component of the company portfolio
  • Define the best finishing equipment to produce the final component
  • Define finishing process that best suits the component and to hit the target of quality and cost
  • Define tooling and clamping fixtures and the relevant compatibility with the finishing equipment if needed
  • Develop 3D models and 2D drawings of tools and clampings using Siemens NX software
  • Develop bill of materials for tools and clamping to allow components purchasing
  • Check and validate tools and clampings in cooperation with the production team
  • Define data cards for production in cooperation with production managers / supervisors
  • Support the analysis of the dimensional reports of the prototypes and reverse engineering of the process
  • Support set up and prototype phase together with the production staff
  • Cooperate with Metrology and QEs to define the control plan for finishing steps
  • Cooperate with the procurement office in defining the acquisition of tools, clampings and consumables.
