Position Summary:
Manages and directs resident care within the nursing department in-order to maintain resident standards of care and ensure that each resident functions at his/her highest level.
Essential Functions:

Position Responsibilities:
- Must follow Brookhaven Policies and Procedures
- Must meet job related competencies as outlined in the Skills Competency Manual
- Coordinates resident care through departmental and appropriate staff committee meetings
- Ensures that staffing is adequate to meet State and Federal requirements
- Guides nursing department in adherence to all state and federal regulations
- Evaluates and disciplines nursing personnel according to Brookhaven policy
- Supervises the maintenance of nursing and medical treatments and related services executed by nursing personnel
- Participates in the QA process
- Ensures availability of nursing supplies and equipment
- Assumes responsibility for maintaining his/her own professional competence
- Verifies that the nursing personnel have valid and current licenses as required by the State in which they work
- Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Graduation from an accredited school of Nursing.
- Current license as a Registered Nurse with the State Board of Nursing.
- CPR certification recommended.
