Job Summary  

We are seeking a skilled Boiler/Compressor Mechanic to support the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of boiler systems, air compressors, and related mechanical equipment at an on-site government installation. This role is responsible for helping ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient performance of critical utility and mechanical systems in a highly regulated environment. 

 

Responsibilities  

  • Install, inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair boilers, air compressors, pumps, valves, piping, regulators, gauges, dryers, and related mechanical equipment. 
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on boiler and compressed air systems to reduce downtime and support uninterrupted site operations. 
  • Monitor system performance, identify mechanical issues, and make necessary repairs or adjustments to ensure safe and efficient operation. 
  • Inspect fittings, controls, pressure vessels, safety devices, and auxiliary equipment for proper function and compliance with safety standards. 
  • Diagnose failures in mechanical systems and replace worn or defective parts using appropriate tools, testing equipment, and maintenance procedures. 
  • Support start-up, shutdown, and operational checks of boilers, compressors, and associated systems. 
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection logs, and service documentation. 
  • Follow all applicable safety, environmental, and facility procedures, including lockout/tagout and other industrial maintenance protocols. 
  • Coordinate with facility operations, maintenance, and engineering personnel to support site requirements and resolve equipment issues in a timely manner.
