As a Unit Coordinator supporting both the Medical Surgical Unit and Intensive Intermediate Care Unit, you will serve as a central point of coordination for communication, documentation, and administrative functions. This role supports nurses, providers, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, efficient, and organized patient care.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Coordinate admissions, discharges, and transfers, ensuring accurate and timely communication across departments
  • Perform clerical and administrative functions within the nursing unit to support daily operations
  • Prepare, compile, and maintain patient records according to established procedures
  • Accurately process and communicate physician orders under the direction of a registered nurse
  • Schedule procedures and coordinate diagnostic testing according to established guidelines
  • Serve as a receptionist for the unit, greeting patients, visitors, and staff in a professional and supportive manner
  • Answer and route phone calls, relaying important information promptly to appropriate team members
  • Support patient registration processes, including verifying demographic and insurance information
  • Maintain logs, schedules, and documentation within required timeframes
  • Coordinate and maintain unit supplies, including inventory tracking and special order management
  • Communicate effectively with hospital departments, vendors, and support services
  • Maintain an organized and efficient nursing station environment, even during high-volume or high-stress situations

  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous clerical, receptionist, or healthcare experience preferred
  • LNA or EMS experience preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic computer, typing, and data entry skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and data entry
  • Ability to interpret and relay information clearly and appropriately

Working Hours:

Full time, Monday through Friday
3:00 PM to 11:00 PM

 

Salary:

Competitive salary based on experience.
