Duties and Responsibilities:

The day-to-day duties of the welder may vary, dependent on workload. To successfully perform the requirements of this position, it is preferred that the employee have one year of related experience, possess a mechanical background, be experienced in welding processes (primarily MIG), possess good organizational skills, and be able to work independently. A weld test is required as part of the interview process. If you don't have a ton of experience welding, we also have an apprenticeship program and will pay you as we train you for production welding.

General Requirements:

  • Meet customer specifications by setting up a job including determining materials, and the welding method to be used if it is not stated on the blueprint
  • Quality check work performing the first piece check and submitting it to quality assurance for inspection prior to completing the entire job.
  • Maintain records on production
  • Ensure efficient and timely processing of various job orders by organizing work to be performed according to complexity, method used, anticipated completion time, etc.
  • Safely and efficiently move the various material to workstation per specifications/prints/technical drawings using overhead cranes, pallet jacks, forklifts, etc.
  • Properly and effectively use measuring instruments to include tape measure, calipers, and other precision measuring equipment.
  • Must be able to work with and without supervision to complete required tasks
  • Maintain good housekeeping, clean area, and equipment regularly, and conduct lower level maintenance on equipment
  • Be able to read and comprehend written work instructions and follow processes
  • Cross-train supporting other functions in the shop as needed
  • Must take pride in work
  • Working with team members to ensure customers deadlines are met
  • Willingness to learn, good attitude, strong work ethic and stable work history a must
  • Other responsibilities as required
