Position Overview:



 



St. Thomas University College of Nursing is seeking a certified Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP) to provide online instruction and academic support to graduate nursing students enrolled in the Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner program. The successful candidate will facilitate learning through online course delivery, discussion engagement, grading, and timely feedback while promoting evidence-based practice and clinical reasoning. This adjunct faculty member will maintain program standards, collaborate with faculty, and support student success in preparation for advanced practice roles.



 



 Key Responsibilities:




  • Teach a variety of graduate nursing courses, including but not limited to general nursing and specialized courses in the candidate’s area of expertise, including Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner.

  • Develop and implement innovative, evidence-based teaching strategies for online learning environments.

  • Provide academic advising and mentorship to students, helping them set academic and professional goals.

  • Engage in curriculum development, program assessment and evaluation, and continuous improvement initiatives for nursing programs.

  • Maintain office hours as per St. Thomas University guidelines and support the program’s goals through direct involvement in faculty initiatives.

  • Actively participate in simulation-based learning activities as needed.

  • Collaborate with faculty members to enhance student learning, clinical placements, and program development

  • Participate in departmental, college, and university service activities, including faculty committees and community engagement

  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that promotes student success and addresses the needs of a diverse student population

  • Stay current with advances in nursing practice and education to continuously improve teaching and clinical instruction.
