· Introduce three to six-year-old children to the world of school
· Support learning by providing activities and materials that children find engaging.
· Must keep classroom clean, safe, and free of materials that could be hazardous to children
· Must manage a classroom; requires organizational skills, attention to detail, and commitment
· Become a partner in learning and encourage children to find their own answers instead of providing the answers for them.
· Facilitate learning, supply a developmentally appropriate environment with interesting materials, and adequate time to explore, play, and interact.
· Complete required paperwork, lesson planning, prepare materials and the environment, and negotiating requires teachers to have strong management skills
· Nurture children in all aspects of development: social, emotional, cognitive, and physical. In every interaction, a teacher should nurture appropriate growth and development.
· Must be able to communicate with many people throughout the day; parents, children, support staff, the general public, and administrators. Early childhood teachers must be prepared to communicate with all these people.

Qualifications and Education Requirements
• Must be 21+years old
• Must be prepared to undergo medical examination, drug test, and background check
• High School Diploma, certificate of high school equivalency or successful completion of college courses for credit
• One year of experience working with preschoolers in an approved setting, or one year of college (30 semester hours), or a combination of experience and college that equals one year
