Job Description

Reports To: Regional Operations Manager

Location: Atlanta, GA

Position Summary

The Controls Installation Manager is responsible for leading and managing the low-voltage electrical installation operations for the Atlanta market. This role oversees all field installation activities related to building automation and controls systems, including new construction and retrofit projects.

The manager is responsible for field labor planning, installation quality, safety compliance, and project execution while supporting profitable delivery of controls infrastructure. This role works closely with project managers, engineers, and field technicians to ensure installations are completed safely, efficiently, and according to company standards.

Key Responsibilities

Field Operations Management:

  • Lead the daily operations of thecontrolsinstallation / low-voltage electrical team
  • Manage installation crews performing:
  • Controls conduit and cable installation
  • Device mounting and panel installation
  • BAS network wiring and terminations
  • Control panel installation and field wiring
  • Planmanpowerand labor allocation across multiple projects
  • Coordinate installation schedules with project managers and construction teams

Project Execution:

  • Ensure installations meet project drawings, specifications, and BAS standards
  • Support startup teams by delivering organized, labeled, andproperly installedinfrastructure
  • Coordinate closely with controls technicians and programmers
  • Manage installation scope for both:
  • New construction projects
  • Retrofit and modernization work

Safety & Compliance:

  • Enforce company safety standards and jobsite safety protocols
  • Ensure compliance with:
  • NEC
  • Local electrical codes
  • Jobsite safety requirements
  • Lead safety meetings and field inspections

Quality Control:

  • Ensure high quality installationsincluding:
  • Conduit routing and craftsmanship
  • Cable management and labeling
  • Panel and device mounting standards
  • Conduct field audits and punch list reviews
  • Support successful commissioning by delivering clean installations

Team Leadership:

  • Hire, train, and develop installation electricians and helpers
  • Provide field coaching and mentorship
  • Build a scalable installation team aligned with company growth
  • Maintain accountability for productivity and workmanship

Financial & Operational Performance:

  • Track labor productivity and installation costs
  • Support project managers inmaintainingproject budgets
  • Identifyopportunities to improve efficiency and reduce subcontractor reliance
  • Help develop installation standards and processes

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in electrical or low-voltage installation
  • Experience supervising field crews on commercial construction projects
  • Strong knowledge of:
  • Low-voltage electrical systems
  • Conduit installation
  • Controls wiring practices
  • Commercial construction environments
  • Ability to read and interpret:
  • Electrical drawings
  • Controls schematics
  • Construction Plans

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS)
  • Background working with systems such as:
  • Delta Controls
  • Distech Controls
  • Alerton
  • Electrical license or equivalent field leadership experience
  • OSHA 30 certification
  • Experience managing installation crews across multiple job sites
