Job Description

The Arts & College Preparatory Academy (ACPA) is a vibrant, independent community school nestled on the east side of Columbus. Our mission revolves around fostering an inclusive and diverse learning environment where students in grades 7 through 12 can thrive. We are currently seeking a dedicated and dynamic High School English Language Arts Teacher to join our team and inspire the next generation of learners.


 


Position Overview: 


As a MS or HS Teacher at ACPA, you'll have the opportunity to shape a curriculum for the position with arts integration. We are looking for an enthusiastic educator who is committed to creating an interactive and inclusive learning environment that empowers students to thrive.


 


Responsibilities:



  • Create and deliver engaging, student-centered lessons that align with the Ohio State Standards while being mindful of students' needs, ability levels, and skill sets.

  • Develop and tailor lesson plans and educational materials to ensure equal access to an engaging program.

  • Facilitate a program that embraces multiple styles of demonstration of mastery and regularly integrates arts and other academic disciplines

  • Adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities, making education accessible to all students.



  • Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages respectful behavior and active participation for all students.

  • Collaborate with and be responsive to student voices for programming and opportunities.

  • Effectively manage class time and student conduct to optimize the learning experience.



  • Communicate with parents and guardians to provide updates on student progress, address any concerns, &  include strategies for success.


 


Qualifications:



  • Valid Ohio teaching certificate or license

  • Proper endorsements as required
