ABOUT WATSON ELECTRICAL CONSTRUCTION
Watson Electrical Construction is a leading provider of electrical contracting services, specializing in delivering high-quality solutions for commercial, industrial, and residential projects. We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Electrical Superintendent II to join our growing team in Wilmington, North Carolina.

Superintendent Level 2 
 
Superintendents are responsible to the Supervisor, or the person designated by the 
Supervisor, for the management of jobs and/or work orders assigned to them being 
performed in accordance with the policies and procedures of the company.  It is their 
responsibility to assist in achieving the division’s aims and goals while operating within 
the guidelines of the company.  The responsibilities set forth, but not limited to, are: 
 
General Summary:  Work will consist of installation, alterations, additions and/or 
repairs of electrical systems, conductors and associated materials and equipment within 
the commercial, industrial and residential  electrical construction industry. 
Responsibilities: 
Must be able to work within precise limits or standards of accuracy, perform a variety of 
duties which may change often.  Must use reason and logic, perform arithmetical 
operations rapidly and accurately, see detail in objects or drawings and recognize slight 
differences in shapes or shadings, and picture flat drawings as 3-dimensional objects.  Is 
directly responsible for work layout, leading and a crew of up to  5–8 Foremen, and 
assuring that materials/tools/equipment, and information are on the job site in the proper 
places, ahead of time.  
1. Plan new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials, provide 
access for future maintenance, and avoid unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable 
wiring, consistent with specifications and national and local codes. 
2. Prepare sketches showing location of wiring and equipment, or follow diagrams or  
blueprints, insuring that work is installed as required. 
3. Observe functions of installed equipment or system to determine hazards and need 
for adjustments, relocation, or replacement. 
4.  Repair faulty equipment or systems. 
5.  Personnel responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: 
a)  Recommend or initiate personnel actions (promotions, transfers, discharges, 
b) and disciplinary measures). 
c) Analyze and resolve work problems, and/or assist workers in solving  work  
  problems. 
d)  May train new workers. 
e)  Interpret company policies to workers. 
f)  Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assign 
duties.  
g)  Monitor the work being performed and direct the crew. 
h)  Monitor and control the assignment of foremen to projects. 
6.    Complete required paperwork ( time sheets, safety reports, accident reports, etc.). 
7.   Requisition, and inspect materials.  
8.   May be required to do a re-estimate. 
9.   Schedule the work according to the pace of the job and other trades. 
10. Monitor and control the Company’s established policies concerning, but not limited 
 to, the following:  
a)  The Company’s Substance Abuse Program. 
b)  Vehicle usage.  
c)  Hazardous Communication Program. 

d)  Quality Assurance Program. 
  
Position Requirements: 
Licenses - Current driver’s license if required by job conditions; applicable federal, state 
and local licenses as required by job conditions or by the company. 
 
Certifications - Applicable federal, state and local certifications as required by job 
conditions or by the company. 
 
Education - High School Graduate, holder of G.E.D., or equivalent Watson training. 
 
Experience - Required or necessary experience and/or training to assure all aspects of 
position are performed efficiently and productively while operating in accordance with 
policies and procedures of the company. 
 
Working Conditions: 
1. Job requires working in all elements, depending on job location, time of year, heat,  
 cold, rain, snow. 
2.  Must be able to utilize construction site sanitary facilities  (Porta-Johns). 
3.  Job requires employee to have required personal tools with him at all times (waist 
 tool belt as worn weighs approximately 30 lbs). 
4.  Work from all types of ladders  (step ladders up to 14’, “A” frame ladders, all size 
 extension ladders and carry and relocate up to 12’ step ladder by himself. 
5.  Employee’s personal weight and personal tools cannot exceed weight limit of ladder. 
6.  Perform work at various heights, up to 90’ from ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, cat  
 walks or other safe work areas. 
7.  Work in restricted areas  (switch gear room, manholes, utility tunnels, crawl spaces,  
 attics). 
8.  Wear personal protective equipment as required in Safety Handbook. 
9.  Able to work 40 hours per week, overtime as required, night shifts; work out of town  
if needed.

16.  Positively identify colors of wires. 

17.  Comprehend reading and drawing prints and schematics of same. 
18.  Bend conduit by hand with hand benders. 
19.  Must have the ability to use required power tools 
20.  Operate equipment, trenchers, lift trucks, etc. in a safe manner. 
21. Capable of digging trenches, either by use of hand tools or power equipment. 
22.  Operate two handed tools and equipment as required. 
23.  Read and interpret maps, instructional manuals, specifications, work site directions, 
blue prints and written instructions. 
24. Operate and work from mechanical personnel lifts  (electric or gas powered). 
25.  Work energized circuits and equipment as outlined in Safety Policy. 
26.  Supervise assigned job site employees to complete project.  
 
Physical Function: 
1. Hear and see well (either naturally or with correction). 
2. Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull and 
reach over head. 
3. Lift objects weighing up to 100 pounds, with frequent lifting and carrying of objects 
weighing up to 50 pounds. 
4. Constantly move on feet. 
5. Climb ladders  (all types). 
6. Complete overhead work for full day assignments. 
7. Must be able to make transition from employee parking area or street into 
construction work areas and to gain access to all levels of the building, even if the 
only means of access is by O.S.H.A. approved site construction ladder, or stairs still 
under construction but acceptable for use. 
8. Responsible for securing tools and materials from storage areas to complete 
assigned tasks. 
9. Repetitive use of arms, hands and fingers.
