Job Description

Position Title: Elementary Music Teacher


 


Qualifications:



  • Must hold or be eligible to receive a valid Arkansas Teaching License with Grade K-6 Certification in Music

  • Experience in the elementary grades is preferred

  • Willing to organize and carryout performances both during and after school hours


 


The elementary music teacher must direct and manage the overall program of music for the school. Provide students with an opportunity to participate in extracurricular activities and ensure compliance with all state and district requirements. 


                                                                                                                                        


Duties and Major Responsibilities:



  • Direct elementary school music programs

  • Provide for school choir participation at extracurricular events, including concerts, special events such as Christmas and spring concerts

  • Compile budgets and cost estimates based on documented program needs.

  • Coordinate activities and manage funds.

  • Work with high school music director in program planning.

  • Maintain a current inventory of all fixed assets within the department.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.


 


Other Job Responsibilities:



  • Abide by state statues, code of ethics , school board policies and regulations

  • Attend meetings and perform duties as assigned by administrators and supervisors

  • Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.

  • Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulations.

  • Remain current on instructional practices in education. (e.g. instructional technology)
