Job Description

TITLE: Substitute Custodian Pool
DUTIES: The Substitute Custodian will be responsible for keeping the school building, facilities and
equipment in a clean and orderly condition. Duties will include cleaning classrooms, gymnasium,
cafeteria, hallways, stairs and office areas. This position will be emptying trash, garbage containers,
and paper shredders; disinfecting mirrors, doorknobs, restrooms and showers; and replacing paper and
soap products. The position will require the operation of custodial equipment, including carpet
extractors and hard floor machines. Duties will also include using a ladder when required in work
assignments. This position will have the responsibility of locking and unlocking buildings; ensuring
that the building facilities are secure when not in use by staff; and reporting any unauthorized
occupants.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED
certification. Applicant must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. Applicant will be required to bend, reach,
push, pull and stand for extended periods. This position will require knowledge of basic, common
rules, procedures, practices, or operations. Applicants should have common courtesy in dealing with
clients, coworkers, and the general public.
SALARY AND BENEFITS: The position will be an on-call position. The shift may be day or swing
shift depending on the need. This position can be scheduled to work up to 8 hours per/day and will
report to the Facility Supervisor. This position is open for the current school year. The salary range of
pay rates will be $18.92/hr. to $33.08/hr.
