- Have a valid passport and C1/D Seaman's visa (DCL will provide you with documents to obtain this)

Responsibilities
In addition to performing those duties required of a Security Guard, the Lead Security Guard under the supervision of the Security Officers is responsible for:
- Verifying that the Security Equipment onboard maintenance and calibration procedures are carried out as required and reports to the Security Officers any faults or potential faults with any equipment.
- Assisting the Security Officers in a supervisory role.
- Assisting with security assessments and surveys.
- Identifying and bringing forward new processes and procedures to improve security operational efficiency.
- Assisting in training of the security guards on the security equipment including X-ray, WTMD and HHMD if suitably qualified and any other equipment as directed
- Bringing to the Security Officers attention any concerns or issues related to job performance with the security guards.
- Supervising and participating in gangway operations to oversee Guest and Crew embarkation and disembarkation.
- Access control of people, property and stores onto and off of the vessel (where appropriate), which includes processing all guest and crew carryon items through the gangway X-ray equipment to identify potential threat items carried within and observing guests and crew going through the gangway metal arch detector.
- Conducting pat down searches of personnel as directed.
- Conducting physical searches of luggage, accommodation, public spaces and stores.
- Enforce all shipboard crew regulations and report all improprieties.
- Carry out routine patrols of Guest and Crew accommodations and open deck areas.
- Man gangways at all ports.
- Checks Guest and Crew ID cards when boarding.
- Has the authority to stop anyone without approved ID from entering the ship.
- See that the gangways stay firmly secured to the ship and safe at all times and has the authority to stop anyone from passing the gangway if it is determined unsafe.
- Contacts the Security Officer when Guest lines become excessive or any other unexpected situations arise at the gangway.
- Escort discharged Crew Members while processing out.
- Observe and maintain control of minor guests in open deck areas.
- Secure and preserve evidence in any personal injury accident scene, crime scene which has been committed in their presence.
- Assist in maintaining gangway equipment and gangway areas (cleaning, painting and relocating equipment).
- Assist with Embarkation/debarkation of port pilots.
- Respond to fire detection alarms as directed.
- Render assistance to guest and crew where and when necessary.
- Any other duties as assigned by the Security Officer.
- At all times, as Security Guard or lifeguard, acts in a professional manner and reflects the company’s image of excellence.
