Purpose of Position:
The Young Adult Program Coordinator plans, organizes, and facilitates thirty six events in the year specifically for the young adults (18-25) in the S.T.A.R. program. This position will also need to engage members, facilitate groups, participate in community events/meetings, and market the program as a peer. This position is based out of our 2502 E Washington Street Phoenix STAR building and will require travel to each of the three centers (within Maricopa County) to work with members. This position will require the coordinator to drive a 12 passenger van for some field trips during an 8-4 pm shift during week days. There are also 2-3 special events each month that are held usually on Friday evenings or Saturdays. On 1-2 occasions per year, there is a potential for out of county events.
Essential Functions:
· Research, negotiate, and create at least 3 special events per month
· Facilitate 2 YAP group per week
· Event planning includes: creating fliers, organizing member reservations, coordinating transportation for members, shopping, decorating, documenting all purchases, and coordinating with S.T.A.R. centers and/or clinical teams
· Create calendar of groups and field trips for each center that you will facilitate beyond the special events
· Facilitate members participating in community events
· Communicate with members via phone, email, and social media while maintaining healthy boundaries
· Engage and grow participation within the S.T.A.R. Young Adult Program in the community.
· Utilize transportation companies and Credible systems
· Understand and work within the department budget
· Ensure events, groups, and outings are in line with the vision and mission of S.T.A.R.
· Represent STAR at young adult community and provider meetings at clinics, conferences, and other special events
· Create weekly and monthly reports as required
· Provide weekly cost of all events. Ex: How many members and the cost
· Assist with Fun Bunch as needed
· Make outreach calls to new members or inactive members
· Coordinate with managers to organize and attend member staffing’s
· Coordinate with case managers/guardians as required
· Understand and work within the department budget
· Complete all first level billing in accordance with quality assurance guidelines
· Coordinate with clinical teams to participate in monthly CAC meetings and or other meetings
· 2 Clinic visits per week to promote S.T.A.R.
· Attend all monthly member meetings
· Utilize outlook for emails, calendar, and Microsoft teams communication as directed
· Other duties as required
Requirements
Education
GED or High School Diploma x Required
Experience:
1-2 years of behavioral health experience Preferred
1 year event planning and marketing Preferred
