Job Description

Job Summary: Advanced assembler trained in all aspects of Byrne production, including building, testing, auditing. Will serve as a flexible training resource for all shifts. Solves production issues with hands-on approach. Successfully learns the people, products, processes, and culture of Byrne Electrical Specialists.  Operates, trains, and audits across work areas.  Collaborates with Engineering.

 

Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Job Requirements:

·         Assemble NSNs, web orders and mock ups.

·         Support all areas of production during critical needs (both plants)

·         Make suggestions for continuous improvements, cost savings, and quality improvements.

·         Address production constraints

·         Assist in the training of procedures and quality standards for new assemblers, ensuring that they are properly trained.  Will assist in the re-training of assemblers as needed.

·         Address problems and quality issues and take an active role in the problem-solving as they arise.

·         Support inventory accuracy initiatives in maintaining the proper stock levels of all raw and finished goods.

·         Actively participate in Lean Manufacturing activities thru daily duties and thru CSM collaboration.  Must participate in at least one CSM per year.

·         Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work environment.

·         Read prints and process sheets.

·         Perform first piece inspection as well as in process quality checks accompanied by the required paperwork.  Perform Finished Good audits.  Complete all related paperwork.

·         Operate all equipment used in the assembly process, be able to properly identify parts, and identify and properly tag rejected parts.

·         Understand and follow all ISO procedures.

·         Consistently satisfy or exceed productivity requirements. 

·         Create 1 Innovation and 1 Cost Reduction WORP per year.

·         Participate in validation runs.

 

Experience and General Skills Required:

·         Trained and proficient in 5 work areas + testing

·         Must reach productivity level in the same 5 work areas

·         Must be able to train in at least two areas

·         Must be able to Finish Good audit in at least one area

·         Must have good attendance (No more than 9 points)

·         Must have worked for Byrne for at least 3 years, must have 1-year minimum experience in Special Forces

·         Model for Byrne culture

·         Strong communication skills

·         Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a team based environment that heavily emphasizes quality, performance, cross-training, and accountability.

Physical Requirements: Prolonged standing and walking. Some lifting (not to exceed 50 lbs.) is required. Some daily computer work is required.
