Position Overview
The Flint Cultural Center Academy (FCCA) is seeking a dedicated and experienced
Assistant Principal to join our leadership team. As an Assistant Principal, you will play a crucial role in fostering a positive learning environment, supporting teachers, and ensuring student success.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications:
Educational Requirements:
o Michigan Teaching Certificate.
o Must meet State of Michigan requirements for administrator certification.
• Master’s degree in educational administration, School Leadership, or a related field.
• Credentialed in conducting 5D+ Instructional Framework teacher observations/evaluations as required by the State of Michigan (or willing to participate and successfully complete the appropriate training)
Experience:
o Minimum of 5 years’ successful teaching experience.
o Experience working with inner-city students preferred.
o Visible leadership experiences.
o Previous experience in school building administration preferred.
o Experience in curriculum, instruction, assessment and positive behavior support initiatives preferred.

o Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
o Exhibits ability and understanding of successful task/time management, priority setting, and follow through.

Responsibilities
o Collaborate with the Principal to develop and implement school policies, curriculum, initiatives, and programs.
o In coordination with the principal, provide instructional leadership, mentorship, and support to teachers.
o Lead initiatives related to student discipline, attendance, and behavior management.
o Effectively engage with parents, guardians, and community stakeholders.
o Assist in maintaining a safe and orderly school environment that thrives for students’ social, emotional and academic growth.
o Support a positive and inclusive school culture.
o Oversee standardized testing and assessment processes.
o Become familiar with and instill the emergency operations planning of the school alongside the principal and security staff.
o Collaboratively develop and implement a comprehensive school-wide MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Support) Positive Behavior Support Program (Tiers 1, 2, and 3) and analyze/utilize student discipline/attendance data to ensure effectiveness of
o behavioral interventions.
o Assist the Principal in the oversight of organization, scheduling and supervision of certified and non-certified personnel as assigned.
o Provide leadership for both curricular and extra-curricular activities and program development.
o Assist as identified the master school schedule to best elevate student learning outcomes.
o Other duties as assigned
