SUMMARY:
The Operations Manager is responsible for the safety, environmental, quality, operations, production, and supervision of plant, warehouse, and maintenance personnel for the manufacturing of our Intumescent paint coatings production (blending and packaging) and associated warehousing (KC Site). The Operations Manager is also responsible for regional management of outside tolling, warehouses and inventory to ensure agreed-upon service levels are met.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for all site Environmental Health and Safety (with outside resources as needed); includes all personnel training, plant safety program and environmental compliance including:
- all health and safety requirements of Local, State, and Federal Agencies are met.
- All site operations comply with all Local, State and Federal environmental regulations.
- Oversee all staffing needs and shift scheduling.
- Plan and implement production program to maximize efficiency.
- Oversee items produced to assure specifications are met resulting in a quality product that meets customer expectations.
- Participate in the development and management of the expense budget to optimize company assets.
- With assistance from Supply Chain, responsible for inventory of raw materials
- Follow S&OP guidance process for manufacturing planning and inventory management of raw materials, finished goods and 3rd party materials.
- Maintain production records, including downtime. Utilize data to effect improvements.
- Identify and reconcile any variance in actual verses standard labor, raw material and finished product usage.
- Review production schedules to ascertain product data, such as type, quantities and specifications, formula of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan plant operations.
- Initiate personnel actions such as promotion, transfer, discharge or disciplinary measures.
- Perform other duties and special projects as needed to support the plant operations

SCOPE OF POSITION:
$2M+ Operating Budget, 10-28 person plant, 2-4 shift operation
EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university and – five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Prior coatings blending strongly preferred; chemical blending and packaging required.
KNOWLEDGE:
Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university and – five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
SKILLS:
Leadership, Troubleshooting, Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Environmental Health and Safety Leadership
The base salary anticipated is $110k-$135k per year for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, actual compensation may vary and will be determined by several factors, including but not limited to, the applicant’s skills, qualifications, experience, and other job-related factors. An employee may also be eligible for annual discretionary incentive compensation based on company and personal performance.
