Job Description

Instrumental Music Director 


Job Description:


The Instrumental Music Director will instruct and lead the curricular instrumental ensembles, including two levels of Concert Band and one level of Chamber Orchestra. Additionally, the Director will assist with the Jazz Combo Band. The Director will prepare each ensemble for concert performances, which will be scheduled once per quarter for a total of four performances each year for each ensemble (Concert Band, Chamber Orchestra, and Jazz Combo). Additional stipends are available for Pep Band, Drumline, and piano accompaniment duties for choir and all-school liturgies. 


 


Candidates must have strong instrumental performance skills, a wide range of instrumental pedagogy, and the ability to differentiate and arrange music to meet student needs and skills. Proficient piano skills and a knowledge of Catholic liturgies and liturgical music are ideal.


 


Qualifications:


BFA/BA/BS Degree 


 


Professional Music Experience 


Illinois PEL or other state PEL that can be transferred to IL preferred


MA/MS/MFA/MEd preferred
