Job Summary

Assist the Golf Course Superintendent and Assistant Golf Course Superintendent in maintaining the day-to-day care of the golf courses.  High school diploma or the equivalency is necessary unless currently attending school.  Must have a valid driver’s license and approved driving record.  Previous experience in turfgrass is preferred.  Must be able to work outside for long periods of time and in inclement weather. Physical requirements such as stooping, bending, and lifting an average weight of 30 pounds are also needed.

Days:

Monday - Friday, including some weekends

Core Responsibilities

  •   Perform daily functions including operating a range of turfgrass equipment including trucks, mowers, tractors, sprayers, etc. 
  •   Perform agronomical practices including seeding, sodding, aerifying, watering, mowing, and spraying to turfgrass as needed 
  •   Assist with snow and ice control seasonally (year-round employees are transferred to Ski Area during winter months to assist with Winter operations)
  •   Identify diseases and insects of turfgrass; learn the tools, materials, and equipment used in turfgrass maintenance
  •   Learn procedures for growing and maintaining a variety of turfgrasses
  •   Keep accurate records and carryout preventative maintenance for the greens and turfgrass
  •   Take classes to gain more knowledge on turfgrass management
  •   Other duties as assigned by management
