Overview:
GrowGeneration is one of the largest retailers and distributors of hydroponic and organic growing products in the United States. We market and sell premium horticultural equipment including nutrients, lighting, irrigation, growing media, and environmental controls. Our proprietary brands—Drip Hydro, Char Coir, Ion, PowerSi, and The Harvest Company—offer best-in-class performance, value, and yield for commercial cultivators nationwide.
Purpose of the Role: Responsible for driving commercial revenue by selling GrowGeneration’s portfolio of products to licensed cultivators, commercial farms, and key buyers.
**Success in this role will require strong product knowledge, client relationship management, territory expertise, and the ability to close capital and consumable deals, including proprietary brand placements and B2B portal onboarding.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive revenue growth by selling capital equipment (lighting, benching, HVAC, fertigation) and recurring consumables (nutrients, growing media, IPM).
- Promote GrowGeneration’s proprietary brands (Drip, Char Coir, Ion, PowerSi) with strong product knowledge and performance value.
- Lead quoting, pitching, and closing efforts—tailoring offers based on customer needs and lifetime value.
- Identify, research, and target licensed cultivation operators in the Los Angeles region, including MSOs, independents, and co-ops.
- Retain and grow accounts impacted by recent retail restructuring, ensuring continuity and personal service.
- Travel to customer sites to provide facility walk-throughs, efficiency analyses, and tailored product solutions.
- Support customer adoption of company's B2B Portal for quoting, ordering, and account management.
- Train clients and their teams to streamline reordering and customer support workflows.
- Use CRM daily to manage pipelines, document interactions, track quote-to-close ratios, and maintain forecast accuracy.
- Represent GrowGeneration at trade shows, in-store events, and online through LinkedIn, blogs, and grower forums.
- Build a personal and professional brand that reflects expertise, reliability, and customer trust.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
KPIs & Performance Metrics:
- Monthly sales targets ($ and margin)
- Private label sales penetration (% of total sales)
- Number of active commercial accounts
- B2B Portal usage rate among assigned accounts
- Quote-to-close ratio
- 3+ years of experience in commercial cannabis cultivation supply, B2B sales, or hydroponic product distribution.
- Proven knowledge of Southern California cultivation market dynamics, including local licensing landscape.
- Track record of exceeding sales quotas in competitive environments.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- CRM proficiency.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word).
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
