By bringing a strong foundation of HVAC or boiler experience to independently complete the responsibilities of the role, you’ll support Goldmark’s Fargo-area apartment communities by diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining residential HVAC systems, including boilers and forced air systems. What You’ll Do

  • Independently troubleshoot and diagnose system issues and determine appropriate repair solutions.
  • Perform HVAC and/or boiler service, maintenance, and repair tasks independently early in tenure.
  • Complete service requests and prepare apartments for move‑in.
  • Recommend repairs or replacements when needed.
  • Maintain clean, professional work areas in residents’ homes.
  • Document work and support seasonal maintenance needs.
  • Perform scheduled and corrective preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment, including boilers, water heaters, air conditioning units, air exchangers, forced‑air furnaces, CO₂ detectors, and dryer exhaust systems.
  • Support seasonal HVAC maintenance and inspections to reduce future issues and unplanned downtime.
  • Assist with daily building inspections and identify preventive maintenance needs.
  • Share HVAC knowledge and best practices with other maintenance team members to help strengthen overall technical capability.
  • Document all repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance accurately, ensuring compliance with Goldmark standards.

 

Experience and Education

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with advanced HVAC troubleshooting ability.
  • Must possess a reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record and meet company insurability requirements.
  • Comfortable working independently with support from site and specialty teams.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Basic computer and mobile device proficiency.

Preferred:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in maintenance and operations of Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC).
  • Active EPA Certification.
  • Journeyman HVAC license.
  • Minnesota low pressure boiler license.
  • Familiarity with commercial boilers.
