Description
The Safety Manager is responsible for ensuring the safety of all personnel, equipment, and processes within our renewable energy facilities. You will develop, implement, and oversee safety protocols and procedures to mitigate risks associated with renewable energy operations, promoting a culture of safety and compliance.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Monitor and communicate safety programs and efforts with employees, ensuring safety is part of our culture and that all new hires have proper safety documents and information.
· Conduct documented safety and health inspections no less than once per week, coordinating compliance reports.
· Coordinate with Project team so that necessary protective equipment and safety materials are utilized, adequate first aid materials are available and safety documents are posted on-site.
· Investigate all injuries and review all accident reports, coordinating corrective measures with employees and logging injuries/illnesses for OSHA purposes.
· Minimize construction hazards and enforce safety policies utilizing the company’s disciplinary policy.
· Conduct/coordinate Project Safety "Toolbox" meetings with all employees weekly.
· Record and forward copies of all safety related meetings, programs, safety pre-plans, inspections, correspondence, directives, citations, etc. to the Director for tracking.
· Develop and implement Site Specific Safety Plans for individual projects.
· Assist in developing task specific work planning processes and audit performance adherence.
· Create collaborative, positive safety culture with all employees, trade partners and owners.
· Evaluate the safety performance of vendors and contractors working on renewable energy projects, ensuring compliance with safety requirements and contractual obligations.

Requirements
· Bilingual (English - Spanish) preferred.
· Ability to manage/administer safety orientations, investigate/report on injuries/illnesses/near misses and perform other various safety functions on-site.
· Ability to work with all construction groups- management, owners, trade partners.
· Excellent communication, organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
· In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and standards, including OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and industry-specific guidelines for renewable energy.
· Demonstrated leadership abilities, with a track record of fostering a positive safety culture and driving continuous improvement in safety performance.
Education/Experience:
· Associate’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
· Advance certifications preferred. (CHST)
· 5+ years’ experience managing safety efforts of solar or energy related projects.
· OSHA 510, NFPA 70E, and First Aid/CPR/AED certifications required.
Physical Requirements:
· When navigating a job site, the ability to move around project sites, which may involve walking, climbing stairs, and navigating uneven terrain.
Travel:
· Ability to travel up to 100% of the time.
