Description

Job Summary:




  • Assists patients with billing issues and/or inquiries and works to bring any problems to a favorable resolution.        

  • Acts as liaison between PBO and outside vendors and addresses issues such that productivity is maximized for both.        

  • Processes bankruptcy and estate accounts and fills requests for itemized bills in a prompt, timely and accurate manner.        

  • Prepares and files refund requests.        

  • Accurately and thoroughly documents pertinent events regarding the handling of the account, including researching prior accounts.       

  • Posts payments and contractual to appropriate patient accounts and moves balances to patient balance or secondary insurance as required.         

  • Balances deposits to Cerner and/or CPSI, posting daily and reconciles any discrepancies.        

  • Demonstrates and encourages team behavior and exceptional patient/guest experiences.      

  • Upholds and promotes patient safety and quality. 

  • Manages all insurance authorization demands per payor.


Qualifications


Education:                                                         



High school diploma or equivalent. Certification or experience in medical billing.                                                                                                                Experience:                                                       



2 or more years' experience in healthcare billing preferred. 1 or more years' experience in Home Health billing preferred. Some Home Health Oasis knowledge also preferred. 



Additional Skills/Abilities:        



Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Excellent computer skills, working with Microsoft Word and Excel spreadsheets. Strong organizational skills and ability to work under time restraints.
