Position Title:

Trainee-Supply Chain-Contract Management-Mount Sinai Hospital-Hybrid-Full Time-Days

Position Summary:

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) Administration and Operations Summer Internship Program, managed by the Office for Health Data, Outcomes, and Engagement Strategy (HDOES), provides non-clinical (not patient-facing) internship opportunities within hospital and corporate departments to high school, undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students. Our goal is to expose individuals to unique career pathways in healthcare leadership, management, administrative, and corporate services fields while offering the tools, skills, and knowledge necessary to succeed within the industry.  

All interns are required to participate in all HDOES-sponsored activities, including educational sessions and panels, engagement events, and the Awards & Recognition Ceremony at the end of the summer.  


Responsibilities

Department: Supply Chain 

The selected intern will assist in providing support to the Supply Chain management team to advance respective projects. Individual will ensure, where relevant, that all work is properly documented, so it is easily transitioned at the end of the internship. Performs all other duties as assigned.


Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associates or greater depending on department and role.
  • None, though some administrative exposure is a plus

Eligibility:

Must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program with an interest in pursuing a career in healthcare.

Must be a U.S. citizen or have a permanent resident card or VISA. 

Skills and Qualifications

  • Attention to detail with strong organizational skills

  • Moderate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and on teams as well as prioritize staff

  • Strong critical thinking and follow up skills and seeing issues through resolution

Compensation Statement:

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $17.00 - $33.00 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
