Job Description

About Us:
We’re a fast-growing, privately held insurance company on a path to becoming a leading U.S. retail platform. We believe every client and customer relationship holds the potential to become something greater—and the same is true for our people. As we grow, we’re redefining how great talent connects with meaningful work, enabling our ambitious strategy while building a culture of high performance, creativity, and partnership. If you’re energized by building product solutions from concept to market, shaping distribution‑specific strategies, and partnering cross‑functionally to deliver competitive annuity and life offerings, this role offers meaningful ownership and impact.

About the Role:
You’ll report to the Head of Product Development, who is accountable for overall product strategy and enterprise‑wide solution prioritization. In this role, you’ll serve as the product development subject matter expert and owner for all annuity and life solutions in the Bank & Broker Dealer (Bank/BD) channel, overseeing the full product lifecycle from concept through launch and post‑launch management.

This position partners closely with the IMO Channel Product Development counterpart to ensure cross‑channel cohesion, leverage shared capabilities, and deliver a coordinated, competitive product portfolio.

What You’ll Do:

Product Concept Development & Strategy

  • Identify product white‑space opportunities through competitive analysis, distributor feedback, and market research
  • Develop product concepts aligned to Bank/BD shelf requirements, including product type, crediting strategies, rider design, and features
  • Build and present business cases to leadership to support prioritization and approval decisions
  • Partner with Pricing to validate product concepts against profitability targets and competitive benchmarks

End‑to‑End Product Development Ownership

  • Own all Bank/BD annuity and life solutions across the full product lifecycle, including ideation, active management, and sunset
  • Partner with the Head of Product Development to ensure roadmap alignment with distribution strategy and organizational priorities
  • Collaborate with Senior Product Development Business Analysts to translate concepts into PPOs and detailed business requirements across pricing, actuarial, operations, and technology
  • Serve as the product expert, approving product specifications and rider documentation in partnership with Business Analysts
  • Monitor post‑launch performance and drive enhancements or corrective actions as needed

Cross‑Channel Alignment & Platform Leverage

  • Partner closely with the IMO Channel Product Development AVP to maintain strategic cohesion across distribution channels
  • Identify opportunities to leverage shared platforms, common builds, and filing efficiencies
  • Align roadmap priorities to avoid duplication and maximize enterprise capacity

Marketing & Sales Collateral Governance

  • Review all Bank/BD marketing materials and sales collateral for factual accuracy across product specifications, rates, riders, and disclosures
  • Partner with Marketing to ensure materials clearly articulate competitive differentiation and product value
  • Approve product guides, presentations, and illustrations prior to distribution and resolve discrepancies against filed specifications

Implementation, Readiness & Launch

  • Represent Product Development across all implementation workstreams, including systems, illustration platforms, regulatory filings, and operational readiness
  • Partner with Operations, Technology, and TPA providers to ensure accurate and timely product builds
  • Lead UAT coordination and provide product sign‑off for system implementations
  • Support training and readiness activities for distribution partners and internal stakeholders ahead of product launches

What You’ll Bring:

  • 5+ years of experience in annuity and/or life product development with endtoend implementation ownership
  • Strong knowledge of annuity and life products, including design, crediting strategies, rider mechanics, and regulatory requirements
  • Experience serving as a product owner within a structured development or implementation environment
  • Familiarity with illustration platforms, policy administration systems, and/or TPA partnerships
  • Ability to translate product concepts into detailed, actionable business requirements
  • Strong communication and influencing skills across Pricing, Operations, Compliance, Distribution, and Technology
  • Direct experience or significant exposure to the Bank/BD distribution channel
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or MBA a plus

Core Competencies:

  • Product Strategy & Lifecycle Ownership: Expertise in owning products from concept through launch and active management, balancing strategic vision with execution discipline.
  • Bank & Broker‑Dealer Channel Acumen: Deep understanding of how Bank/BD partners evaluate annuity and life products, including shelf requirements and competitive dynamics.
  • Cross‑Functional Leadership & Influence: Ability to lead through partnership, aligning diverse stakeholders across pricing, actuarial, operations, compliance, marketing, and technology.
  • Product Design & Regulatory Awareness: Strong capability in evaluating product features, crediting strategies, riders, and regulatory implications throughout the development process.
  • Execution, Governance & Quality Control: Demonstrated discipline in product governance, documentation review, UAT leadership, and post‑launch performance management.
  • Strategic Thinking & Market Insight: Skilled at identifying market opportunities, evaluating competitive positioning, and translating insights into actionable product strategies.

What We Offer:

  • A collaborative, inclusive environment that values authenticity, accountability, and partnership
  • The opportunity to join the company at an exciting stage of growth, where colleagues are empowered to build what’s next
  • A variable compensation package with a base range of $170K–$200K
  • A competitive benefits package including comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage; an HSA and 401(k) company match; paid time off; and employer-paid life and disability insurance
  • Remote/hybrid work arrangement
