About Our Opportunity

We are seeking an Assistant Production Artist to work in the Philadelphia Corporate office. The Assistant Production Artist will assist the design team in preparing purchased artwork for development and complete all final files as it relates to product art. 

Responsibilities

  • Develop an understanding of the process to assist the design team in preparing purchased artwork for development.
  • Learn to create and refine die lines for customer presentations and production use.
  • Gain proficiency in preparing pre-production files in formats suitable for product development.
  • Learn to prepare organized production files from concept art provided by product designers.
  • Learn to review production files from designers and other creative teams to ensure proper setup and accuracy before release to vendors.
  • Build knowledge of color correction processes and production color standards.
  • Learn the layout process by placing art and text; specifying print requirements such as bleeds, clear zones, die-cut and coverage.
  • Learn to prepare organized layout and electronic files according to specification.
  • Obtain and retain current production specifications.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

Qualifications 

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task. Will need to learn time management and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment with the goal to learn to work independently with little direction.
  • Understanding of various printing methods (Offset, Flexo, etc) is desired. Must be willing to learn about the various printing methods and how to prepare art for them.
  • Understanding of 4 color process printing, as well as spot color printing and various printing techniques is desired. Must be willing to learn about process and spot color printing.
  • A working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite especially Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year art college or university required. 
  • 1 year of related experience and/or training required; 2 or more years preferred.
  • Any equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
