Job Description

Qualifications:



  • Minimum 3 years bookkeeping experience;

  • Minimum high school diploma or GED (post-secondary education preferred);

  • Excellent computer & database skills; and

  • Excellent customer service skills.


 


Essential Functions:



  • Maintains a complete and systematic set of records of all financial transactions of the School Nutrition Department including National School Lunch Program, School Breakfast Program, and Administrative Training Center catering.Processes vendor requests for payments, checks prices, and verifies scheduled dates of shipping.

  • Have a clear understanding of USDA meal pattern guidelines;

  • Receives and verifies orders before distributing to schools/departments;

  • Pays invoices in a timely manner by verifying transaction information, scheduling and preparing disbursements and obtaining authorization of payment;

  • Assists in budget projections for the purpose of delivering services within established guidelines;

  • Monitors a variety of activities (e.g. budget and program expenditures, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring that financial practices are followed and in compliance with district policies;

  • Assumes responsibility for knowing and following the safety rules and proper procedures associated with the responsibilities of the job;

  • Attends required classes and conferences for cafeteria workers held by the school system;

  • Observes all state and local regulations relating to cafeteria operation; 

  • Communicates and submits transfers to Trustee’s office;

  • Works as a versatile team member, providing support across all cafeteria departments to bridge labor gaps; and

  • Performs related duties as assigned.


 


This is a full-time, 12-month (260 days) assignment with insurance and retirement benefits.  Salary will be determined by comparable work experience and placement on Grade 10.1 of the Classified Hourly Pay Schedule.  Pay rate will be no less than $22.07 per hour.
