Job Description

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Obtain health history and perform in-office exams, as well as hospital consults
  • Order/interpret appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests
  • Formulate and implement prenatal, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn care plans
  • Manage normal labor and conducts delivery
  • Report deviations from normal labor to physician(s)
  • Manage post-delivery stage
  • Triage patient calls and evaluate patient problems
  • Document all patient information and care provided, patient/family responses, and medication dispensed or prescribed
  • Obtain new patient records, previous test results, and other records required
  • Follows organizational policies and procedures
  • Contain strict confidentiality

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master of Science in Nursing

EXPERIENCE:

Three or more years of experience as a Certified Nurse Midwife (preferred).

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Certification as a Nurse Midwife with licensure to work in the State of Tennessee
  • Valid DEA licensure
