Position Purpose
The Senior Production Manager supports project teams and Project Managers by providing production oversight and partnering across Capabilities. This role is assigned to highly complex, fast-paced, or high-volume assigned scopes, working cross-functionally to ensure projects deliver on time, on budget, and to the appropriate market quality standards. Assignments span the full production lifecycle, including contributing to design-for-manufacture decisions, driving strategic outsourcing opportunities, overseeing manufacturing execution, and supporting shop setup.
Responsibilities
To perform the essential responsibilities, individuals must have the following level of education and experience, or equivalent combination. Additionally, the following certifications, knowledge, skills, or physical requirements are necessary for the position.
- Support development of budget-appropriate delivery strategies
- Develop detailed production plans for assigned scopes
- Ensure accurate, practical kit and part scheduling
- Be available outside standard working hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed
- Establish and monitor quality control per TAIT internal processes and customer requirements
- Provide feedback to Design and Engineering to maximize procurement and manufacturing opportunities
- Monitor scope budgets and influence the Core Team to achieve or beat estimated costs
- Manage major scopes with outsource vendors and subcontractors
- Partner with Procurement on strategic buying and vendor coordination
- Collaborate with Core Team members and Operational Leaders
- Coordinate with other project teams to balance production priorities
- Meet regularly with Competency and Enabler Leaders to align priorities
- Provide feedback to local leadership on Competency performance, capacity, and resourcing
- Support Project Managers in overall accountability for scope, schedule, and budget
- Coach and train Project Managers, with a focus on production coordination skills
- Provide short-term coverage for Project Managers during peak workload or time-sensitive needs
- Provide input into project integration space planning (does not manage space planning)
- Provide recommendations on inventory and material management, including stock parts and assemblies
- Contribute to or manage prototyping and first-article efforts for innovation projects
Position Requirements
- 7+ years in production management, project management, or manufacturing leadership role.
- Desired degrees: Technical Theater, Manufacturing Management, Mechatronics, Engineering
- Familiarity with Entertainment technology preferred.
- Familiarity with Electrical, Mechanical and Structural engineering preferred.
