FIDELITY MANUFACTURING is part of the backup Power Generation Industry. We design and build back up power packages (to include tanks and enclosures) for large and small health, industrial, and technology-oriented businesses that cannot have a power lapse at any time.
Position Summary
Fabricators are responsible for assembling pieces of steel metal, specializing with Mig welding techniques with knowledge of various welding tools and machines. Daily, a fabricator is responsible for set-up, lay-out, and tack-up of various precision frame weldments and brackets. Ability to cut, bend, form, and assembler various metals.
Essential Functions:
- Perform MIG welding on milled steel and stainless steel.
- Square up and weld a variety of component shapes and structures.
- Weld accurately on both vertical and horizontal planes.
- Read and interpret fabrication drawings and specifications.
- Set up materials and equipment correctly for welding tasks.
- Use various shop tools and machinery, including grinders, band saws, and milling machines.
- Meet production goals and deadlines consistently.
- Arrive on time for work, meetings, and other assigned tasks.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with team members and other departments.
Equipment and Tools Used:
- MIG Welder
- Manual Vertical Band Saw
- Grinder
- Various Clamps and Fixtures
- Basic Manual Milling Machine
- Hand Tools (e.g., tape measure, wrenches)
Qualifications:
- Sorting raw material
- Squaring up and shearing material accurately
- Welding material accurately
- Measures, marks, and scribe dimensions and reference points on material
- Weld and fabricate materials accurately
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods on concrete and metal surfaces.
• Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, reach, climb, and maintain balance during welding and assembly tasks.
• Ability to use hands and fingers for precise handling and control of welding tools, materials, and components.
• Ability to perform repetitive motions associated with welding, grinding, fitting, and material handling.
• Ability to visually inspect welds, components, blueprints, and schematics to meet quality and tolerance requirements.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 50 pounds occasionally, with or without mechanical assistance.
• Ability to safely operate forklifts and other shop equipment, as trained.
• Ability to communicate effectively in moderate-to-high noise production environments.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed in an active steel fabrication and welding environment. The role involves regular exposure to loud noise, welding arcs, sparks, heat, dust, airborne metal particulates, fumes, vibration, and varying indoor and outdoor temperatures, all within OSHA-permissible exposure limits. Duties require working around welding machinery, heavy materials, moving equipment, forklifts, and active fabrication areas. Work may involve overtime or extended hours based on production demands. Designated PPE — including welding helmets, safety eyewear, flame-resistant clothing, gloves, hearing protection, and steel-toe footwear — must be worn at all times. All work must follow OSHA welding safety guidelines, lockout/tagout procedures, and company safety policies.
