Job Description

Sawmill Supervisor Trainee, Belledune, New Brunswick

This role provides hands‑on
exposure to safety,  production, ,
quality, and people leadership while working closely with experienced
supervisors and superintendents. You will learn how to lead teams, support
daily operations, and apply continuous improvement practices in a fast‑paced
industrial environment building the skills and confidence required to progress
into a Supervisor role over time.

What You'll Do

  • Support a strong safety culture by learning Interfor’s safety standards, participating in toolbox talks and meetings, and fostering open, respectful communication on the floor.
  • Learn sawmill operations by supporting daily production activities across key areas of the mill, gaining hands‑on experience with safe work practices, production processes, equipment, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop leadership skills by working alongside experienced supervisors to support hourly employees, reinforce safe work practices, and help address production or quality issues.
  • Build operational and analytical capability by assisting with production reporting, KPI tracking, quality monitoring, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

What You Offer

  • At least 1 year of experience in manufacturing, industrial operations, or a sawmill/planer environment.
  • A desire to lead people.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to learn quickly and work effectively in a team‑based, fast‑paced environment.
  • Bilingual in French and English, with the ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with a diverse workforce.
