QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Communication Skills: Ability to successfully communicate by written or verbal communication. Writing must be legible and neat.
- Solid Attendance 1-2 days – No written warnings during the probationary period. The probationary period may be extended for attendance.
- Trainees must complete the Maintenance Training Program and pass “Satisfactory” in all categories within the probationary period.
- Must pass Versatex Forklift Training Program and be independent moving all necessary items that the job requires.
- Must be proficient in using a computer to log, order and inventory parts and equipment
- Must Understand the function and protocols of lockout/tagout as trained.
- Must be able to perform basic machine functions.
- Must understand and participate in Versatex’s 5-S system.
- Must be able to operate the basic functions on all equipment at Versatex.
- Must be able to work as a team.
- Must have a 2-year degree in electrical maintenance or 5 years prior in industrial maintenance.
- Must be willing and able to work flexible shifts, scheduled and or posted overtime when required to meet the company’s needs.
- Must possess attention to detail skills pertaining to all phases of maintenance repair.
- Will be responsible for maintenance tasks as well as directing the team.
- Must be willing to start training as a leader.
- Must be able to communicate effectively to the Sr. Maintenance Manager and A+ Maintenance.
- Must be familiar with all types of sensors, operations, installations, and repair of all units.
- Must be familiar with Vacuum and pressure blowers, operation, and installation, and repair of all units.
- Must be familiar with air compressor technology and maintenance of the equipment. This will include repairing, installation, and troubleshooting of all units.
- Must track inventory and maintain an acceptable level of spare parts.
- Will be evaluated during day-to-day operation. Will possess the knowledge gained through ongoing training during employment to be considered for this position.
- A maintenance will report directly to “A+ Maintenance and Senior Maintenance Manager and communicate effectively on a day-to-day basis
- Must be able to trouble shoot and repair most plant equipment with training in the following areas such as electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, interpreting and schematics.
- Must be able to train individuals in the maintenance department.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
- The employee is regularly required to perform long periods of standing and
walking on cement foundation and must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- The use of all personal protective equipment is required for certain jobs and in specified areas of the plant.
- Willing and able to work flexible shifts, scheduled and/or posted overtime when required to meet production needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Regular and punctual attendance.
- Notify A+ Maintenance of any problems, as they arise.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural SOPs
- Ability to perform all PM’s as trained.
- Independently recognize and report machine/equipment issues to Shift Supervisor and “A “Maintenance employee and Sr. Maintenance Manager.
- Must follow all OSHA and Versatex safety guidelines when performing tests, inspecting and repairing mechanical/electrical equipment
- Always maintain “5S” program daily/monthly standards at all work areas
- Takes responsibility of troubleshooting equipment and repairs on equipment.
- Able to execute and explain to anyone our PPE and 5-S, and SOPs for all production equipment.
- Able to maintain and care for all issued tools and equipment in the Maintenance Room.
QUALITY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reports machine issues to the Sr. Maintenance Manager and takes appropriate action to not allow any unsafe parts and/or machinery to run.
COST CONTROL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Makes cost-saving suggestions.
RELATIONSHIP:
A maintenance reports to the Sr. Maintenance Supervisor or A+ Maintenance Employee
