Job Summary: We are seeking a talented and compassionate Sous Chef to support our Head Chef in delivering high-quality culinary experiences for our residents. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, strong leadership skills, and an understanding of dietary needs in a healthcare setting.



Key Responsibilities:




  • Assist the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations, including meal preparation, cooking, and plating for breakfast, lunch, and dinner services.

  • Ensure all food is prepared according to established recipes, dietary restrictions, and safety standards.

  • Supervise and train kitchen staff, fostering a positive and efficient work environment.

  • Maintain inventory, assist with ordering, and manage food costs effectively.

  • Uphold the highest standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and organization in the kitchen.

  • Contribute to menu planning, ensuring variety, nutritional balance, and resident satisfaction.



Qualifications:




  • Minimum 2-3 years of culinary experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or Sous Chef role.

  • Culinary degree or equivalent professional training preferred.

  • Knowledge of dietary restrictions and nutritional requirements common in long-term care (e.g., low-sodium, diabetic, pureed).

  • Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations (ServSafe certification preferred).

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
