The South Routt School District is designated "Accredited with Distinction" by the Colorado Dept. of Education for the last three years.  

The SOROCO Middle School has earned the John Irwin School of Excellence for the past two years, as well as  the MS Governor's Distinguished Improvement award for the past four years.

The South Routt Elementary and Pre-school are located in Yampa, CO and the SOROCO Middle and High Schools are located in Oak Creek, CO.  With an average of 350-400 students, Pre-K thru 12th grade, teachers at South Routt schools enjoy small class sizes and more personable teaching experiences.

?Qualifications for teaching positions can include:

• Colorado Dept. of Education (CDE) Teaching License; or
• Transferred Teaching License from another state; or
• Bachelor's Degree and a CDE Alternative License; or
• Applicable work experience and a CDE Adjunct License.
• For Substitutes, Para Professionals and Preschool Staff, HS education, experience with kids and work experience
• Background checks are required for all school staff
