    Manager of School Operations & Board Services

    Location: Sharon Center School, Sharon, CT
    Full-Time, 12-Month, Exempt Position
    Salary: $72,800 annually
    Start Date: June 8, 2026

    Position Overview

    Sharon Center School is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and collaborative professional to serve as the Manager of School Operations & Board Services. This key leadership support role partners closely with the Principal to ensure the smooth, efficient operation of the school while supporting strategic priorities, compliance, and communication across all systems.

    This position also serves as the Board Clerk, playing a critical role in supporting Board of Education operations, maintaining official records, and ensuring compliance with public meeting requirements.

    Key Responsibilities

    Executive & Operational Leadership

    • Partner with the Principal to manage priorities, initiatives, and school operations
    • Coordinate systems, workflows, and school-wide processes
    • Support strategic planning, reporting, and presentations
    • Serve as a liaison between the Principal and internal and external stakeholders

    Board of Education Services (Board Clerk)

    • Prepare Board agendas, materials, and meeting documentation
    • Record and maintain official meeting minutes and records
    • Ensure compliance with FOIA and public meeting requirements
    • Coordinate Board meetings, workshops, and community forums
    • Maintain organized and accessible Board documentation and archives

    Human Resources Coordination

    • Support onboarding and personnel record management
    • Serve as a liaison with district and regional Human Resources staff
    • Ensure compliance with personnel procedures and recordkeeping requirements

    Business & Financial Operations

    • Assist with budget development and monitor expenditures
    • Coordinate purchasing and financial reporting
    • Oversee accounts payable and school-based financial tracking
    • Monitor grants, funding allocations, and internal financial controls

    Payroll & Compliance Support

    • Process payroll-related documentation, including time records, stipends, and contractual payments
    • Review payroll submissions for accuracy and timeliness
    • Maintain payroll records and support required reporting, including quarterly and year-end submissions

    Systems & Communication

    • Streamline administrative systems and improve workflows
    • Support school communications and coordination across stakeholders
    • Serve as a central point of contact for staff, families, leadership, and community members

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree preferred
    • Experience in school administration, business operations, human resources, or a related field preferred
    • Experience with budgeting, payroll, accounts payable, or financial operations strongly preferred
    • Familiarity with public sector or Board of Education operations preferred
