Job Description:

We are seeking a Music Teacher to join our work in the field of special education. This position provides the opportunity to bring music to children ages 3–12.

The Music Teacher will be responsible for bringing developmentally appropriate music instruction in accordance with NYSED guidelines.

12-month position (school calendar plus 6-week summer session)

  •  Hours: 8:30 - 3:30 Monday to Friday
  • 12-month salary: Commensurate with Education and experience
    • Bachelors: $ 55,000 - 58,900
    • Masters: $58,000 - 61,800
  • Medical, dental, vision and Aflac plans available; generous PTO; paid school breaks and holidays; 403B plan
  • Discounted Child Care (full or part-time) available on-site

The successful candidate will possess:

  • NYSED certification: Teacher of Music
  • Experience with students with disabilities a plus
  • Passion for music and engaging young learners.
  • Assist in creating and developing a music curriculum 
  • Ability to develop and implement differentiated music instruction in accordance with NYSED standards 
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary team members
  • Highly proficient in written and verbal communication skills
