Job Description

Join us as a Summer Trainee and gain hands-on experience in vulnerability management by performing authenticated and unauthenticated security scans. Under the guidance of experienced colleagues, you will use tools such as Qualys to identify security weaknesses and understand how they impact systems.

These practical activities will help you analyze scan results, prioritize vulnerabilities using CVSS scores, and explore remediation methods such as patching, strengthening your understanding of real-world cybersecurity operations.

Duration: 4h/day

Period: July-August

Submission deadline: May, 6th

Responsibilities

  • Perform authenticated and unauthenticated vulnerability scans using Qualys
  • Analyze scan results to identify security weaknesses
  • Interpret CVSS scores to assess vulnerability severity
  • Support identification of remediation actions, including patching
  • Work with basic networking concepts (IP addresses, ports, services)
  • Document findings and contribute to vulnerability reports

     

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor program
  • Applicants may apply to a maximum of 2 projects
  • Access to or familiarity with Qualys (or similar vulnerability scanning tools)
  • Basic networking knowledge (IP, ports, protocols)
  • Understanding of CVSS and vulnerability scoring concepts
  • Awareness of patching and remediation processes
