Gynecology and Preventative Health Medical Office, Medical Assistant Little Silver NJ

Description

We are a preventative health medical office seeking to add a dedicated, full-time Certified Medical Assistant to join our team (4-5 days a week). We are looking for a motivated, proactive, and collaborative individual eager to contribute to the development and success of our office. Gynecological background is an advantage.

The Medical Assistant role involves a blend of administrative duties and direct patient care under the supervision of a physician. Medical Assistant will have to multi task during the day - Responsibilities include assisting with patient exams, managing patient information, supporting the physician, and maintaining a smooth office environment.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Patient Interaction: Greet patients in person or via phone, ensuring a warm and professional experience.
  • Patient Information: Verify patient information by gathering medical history and confirming the reason for the visit.
  • Preparing for Examination: Guide patients to the exam room and ensure they are prepared for their visit.
  • Vital Signs & Basic Exams: Measure vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, weight, height) and record the information in patient charts.
  • Specimen Collection: Draw blood and prepare specimens for lab analysis when necessary.
  • Room Preparation: Set up examination rooms for patient visits, ensuring cleanliness and readiness.
  • Patient Education & Communication: Inform patients about procedures and treatments, explain costs, and direct them to relevant resources. Refill medication and call pharmacies as needed.
  • Administrative Duties: Handle routine correspondence, answer phones, manage messages, and assist with paperwork as needed.
  • Confidentiality & Recordkeeping: Safeguard patient information by maintaining confidential medical records.

Additional Responsibilities:


  • Support the physician by following orders and assisting with patient inquiries about procedures or surgeries.
  • Educate patients about medication, treatment plans, and diet instructions.
  • Ensure the work environment remains safe and complies with legal and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain inventory levels by monitoring supplies, placing orders, and managing stock.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain medical equipment to ensure optimal functioning.
  • Stay updated on medical knowledge through continuous education and professional development.
  • Uphold professional standards and follow office policies, federal/state regulations, and accreditation requirements.
