Position Overview:
The Quality Control Technician will perform laboratory testing and analysis to support manufacturing operations, product quality assurance, and material evaluation. This role requires working in a flexible, collaborative team environment while carrying out all assigned testing responsibilities.
What you will be doing:
- Perform laboratory tasks and testing following standard operating procedures
- Ensure the accuracy of testing results and verify each result
- Document tests procedures and results, monitors experiments, makes observations, calculates and records results, and develops conclusions
- Process/input test data to excel, compose plots and graphs, and organize data for PowerPoint reports
- Prepare samples for testing according to standard procedures (Internal, ASTM, AASHTO, etc.)
- Operate various types of lab instrumentation for particle size analysis, materials characterization
- Cleans and maintains laboratory equipment, calibrates equipment
- Prepares chemical solutions according to standard formulas, keep detailed technical records/notebooks
- Create weekly reports on projects and tasks, work with manufacturing plants on product quality and/or test results
- Maintain communication between supervisors and coworkers, provide backup support to the other Potters facilities as needed
Minium Requirements:
Education:
High School Diploma/GED
Desired Level: College Degree in related field or equivalent experience
Experience:
1 to 3 years of Lab Experience
1 to 3 years of Manufacturing Environment Experience preferred
Experience with Particle Size analysis, XRF, Coatings testing a plus
Skills & Knowledge:
Microsoft Office - strong in Excel, Outlook, Word
Laboratory Equipment Experience (particle Size , XRF, Density, Microscopy)
Ability to communicate clearly with manager and co-workers and work independently Good housekeeping and Lab cleanliness skills
Strong attention to Detail and Organization
Consistency and Accuracy for Lab Results
