We are ROCKWOOL — the world leader in stone wool solutions, working to enrich modern living through sustainable insulation and building products. You will join Group Sourcing & Procurement (GSP), a team of procurement professionals supporting the ROCKWOOL Group across multiple categories and regions.

.

Your role

As Section Manager for the Binder & Chemicals team, you will lead the section while being directly responsible for one or more categories. You will own category strategies, supplier relationships and delivery of results, while supporting Group Sourcing & Procurement (GSP) business plans.

You will optimize category management strategies, manage spend under control, secure continuous supply and mitigate category-related risks. The role requires strong category management expertise, procurement know-how and people leadership to drive performance across the team and interfaces within the Group and OPCOs.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the section to deliver contribution targets and maintain a robust sourcing pipeline.

  • Own one or more categories: develop and evolve category strategies, support sourcing activities and be accountable for results.

  • Drive team discussions to identify value creation opportunities and proactively address gaps against targets.

  • Monitor category performance and provide regular reporting on contribution, contract coverage, compliance and other KPIs.

  • Review category strategies and draft evolutions with Category Managers prior to Category Director reviews.

  • Lead discussions focused on improving contract coverage and compliance.

  • Lead the TYCE exercise, including preparation and alignment with the team before review with the Category Director.

  • Proofread contract executive summaries before submission to the Category Director.

  • Support and participate in supplier evaluation, selection and negotiations to build long-term partnerships and continuous improvement.

  • Propose category-related risks (market and price volatility, supply disruptions, compliance) and define mitigation actions together with the team.

  • Act as the first point of escalation for the team; escalate unresolved issues to the Category Director when required.

  • Provide hands-on support in troubleshooting, problem resolution and decision-making related to category issues.

  • Represent the Category Director in meetings when required, including OPCO QBRs, TYCE reviews with the CPO and key stakeholder meetings (Technical, Supply Chain and Managing Directors).

  • Support recruitment activities, including CV screening and participation in first-round interviews.

  • Lead people management activities: coaching, performance management, promotions, training and capability development.

  • Coordinate leave planning within the team to ensure continuous business support.

  • Act as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders regarding category performance, opportunities and status updates.

Key result areas

  • Delivery of company strategy and KPIs, particularly within GSP Binder & Chemicals.

  • Zero supply interruptions causing factory stoppages.

  • Strong leadership and effective execution across all key responsibility areas.

  • Excellent internal and external stakeholder management.

Who we are looking for

  • University degree with 10–15 years’ experience in category management, procurement, supply chain or logistics.

  • Proven experience managing teams and owning categories end-to-end.

  • Strong business acumen with excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.

  • Solid category management expertise, including contract management, legal understanding and negotiations.

  • Ability to structure and execute complex analyses and translate insights into clear recommendations and actionable implementation plans.

  • Proven negotiation capability with a balanced and pragmatic commercial mindset.

  • Proactive, forward-looking and results-oriented approach.

  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.

  • Comfortable working cross-functionally in an international environment.

Personal behaviours

  • Communicates clearly and sets expectations effectively.

  • Works collaboratively across teams and functions.

  • Takes ownership and acts independently and proactively.

  • Plans and organizes work effectively, managing priorities in a dynamic environment.

  • Continuously identifies improvement opportunities and translates them into action.

  • Acts as a role model, contributing to collective team results beyond own category
