Quality Control Laborer (2nd Shift)
Bell Lumber & Pole Co.
📍 Location: Broken Bow, Oklahoma | 🕒 2nd Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM (Overtime as needed)
💲 Starting pay is $20 an hour with $1/hour shift differential

Bell Lumber & Pole is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Quality Control Laborer to join our team. In this role, you’ll inspect treated utility poles to ensure they meet strict industry and customer standards. You’ll work closely with plant operations, supporting safety, quality, and performance across the yard.


Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect treated poles for compliance with ANSI, REA, AWPA, and customer specifications

  • Identify defects and apply proper grading rules based on relevant standards

  • Physically roll poles with third party inspector to visually inspect each pole

  • Perform penetration and retention testing on treating charges

  • Titrate treating solution as required

  • Accurately complete and maintain inspection records and documentation

  • Communicate inspection results with plant and quality leadership

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area

  • Collaborate with internal and independent quality inspectors

  • Other yard duties as needed


What We’re Looking For

Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Experience:

  • Experience working outdoors in variable weather conditions

  • Hands-on manual labor a plus (consistently lift 50 pounds)

  • Previous quality control or inspection experience is a plus

Skills & Requirements:

  • Strong understanding (or willingness to learn) ANSI, REA, AWPA, and ASTM standards

  • Ability to read a tape measure accurately

  • Comfortable working around and on pole piles, including climbing ladders

  • Solid math skills and attention to detail

  • Good communication and record-keeping abilities

  • Commitment to safety and proper PPE use

  • Familiarity with inventory systems is helpful
