Milacron is looking for a Global Software Controls Director to join our team in Batavia, OH. In this role, you will be responsible for setting the strategic direction and carrying out execution for this global team. This role is responsible for all engineering domains as well as the Software, Controls & Technology roadmaps. A successful candidate will develop strategies to optimize operations, setting guidelines and control product roadmaps, coordinating managers, and liaising with key business partners.
Relocation assistance may be available to those that reside outside of the Greater Cincinnati area.
Work You'll Do:
- Leads the Global Development Team for Machine Controls, Auxiliary Integrations, Software and Connectivity Solutions.
- Drives production software engineering teams for on time delivery for production orders, KPI’s for measuring efficiency and mentoring to continuously fill pipeline with software engineering talent.
- Acquires and retains outstanding talent globally. Ensures talent progresses with high performance and increased responsibilities.
- Partners with peers and colleagues to create winning solutions.
- Drives the software and hardware architectures for new systems.
- Ensures Milacron solutions are developed with latest industry trends and market knowledge including using AI for code development and architecture.
- Presents roadmaps and other visual material to communicate strategies and options to global teams and leadership.
- Ensures Milacron participates in industry consortiums that affect standards and standardization.
- Establishes and enforces global software processes and tools. Document these processes in an ISO9001-compliant format.
- Advance the use of multi-physics simulation (digital twins) to decrease time-to-market.
- Utilize AI and emerging intelligence solutions for predictive analytics, advanced software code creation and advanced machine learning.
- Partner with HR on forecasting, workforce planning, as well as attracting, developing, and retaining key talent
- Identify, track, and drive continuous improvement with KPI’s for the department that align with financial objectives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Master’s degree strongly preferred. Multi-discipline engineering strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience implementing large scale control and software initiatives and tracking results
- Ability to work across all levels and lead through influence
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required; ability to recommend alternative solutions and translate complex concepts into simplified and understandable examples.
- Experience upgrading teams, processes and systems as well as problem solving skills.
- Exhibits positivity, flexibility, creativity, and a willingness to take on new responsibilities as requested or required
- Ability to travel up to 20% globally
