Job Description
Division/Department: Golf Course/Pro Shop
Location: Black Bear Golf Course – On Site
Reports To: Manager Golf Course Operations
Probationary Period: 90 days – Full time; 120 days – Part time,
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (hourly)
Classification: Child-Related CB
Driver’s License: Level 0- No Driver’s License required.
Rate of Pay: $15.00 per hour

Responsibilities

  • Be a “Customer Service Star” going out of your way to satisfy customers’ needs and wants.
  • Tee time management (taking, cancelling, and checking in of tee times for guests).
  • Receive, display and promote merchandise sales.
  • Inform management or administration of damaged goods.
  • Replenishes merchandise in the Pro Shop.
  • Inform management of any inventory that is low and must be reordered.
  • Assist customers who need advice on multiple sales.
  • Complete opening and closing operations in the Pro Shop.
  • Use proper procedures for making telephone calls.
  • Dust and clean Pro Shop and merchandise; water plants.
  • Assist with group outings and events.
  • Follow assigned procedures when alerting golfers to weather conditions.
  • Sell merchandise, gift certificates, and memberships.
  • Assist in scoring and scoring cards for group outings and events.
  • Displays a responsive and professional manner in promptly responding to all requests, complaints, and problems.  
  • Recognizes that each employee is a representative of the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa and is responsible for demonstrating courtesy, respect, and sensitivity to the needs of all others, including visitors and co-workers.
  • Represents the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa and the department in a positive and professional manner in the community.
  • Required to maintain proper attendance including reporting to work on time in accordance with applicable policies.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area.
  • Due to changes and modifications in the job from time to time, employees are required to be flexible and assume other responsibilities assigned by management as deemed necessary.

Qualifications

  • No Driver’s License required.
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Basic golf equipment knowledge preferred.
  • Basic Math Skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate good customer service skills.
  • Prior work with the public is desirable.
  • Ability to generate sales through application of instructed retail sales approaches.
  • Ability to count and calculate currency in the delivery of change to customers.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing is required.  
  • Ability to work independently and establish priorities is required.  
  • Attention to detail and accuracy is required.  
  • Ability to establish professional and harmonious working relationships on all projects and with all parties involved.
  • Subject to drug and alcohol testing in accordance with the Fond du Lac Reservation’s Personnel Policies.
  • Subject to pre-employment and annual background checks.  
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT:

  • Stand, sit, bend, reach, and lift in the performance of their duties.
  • Lift 50 pounds.
  • Subject to inside and outside environmental conditions.  
  • May be required to periodically work in a smoking environment
