Job Description

Position Summary

The Camp Coordinator is responsible for the creation and implementation of all camp programs during the summer, winter, and spring, as well as all vacation day programing. The Camp Director is responsible for the recruiting, hiring, training, and supervising of all camp staff throughout the year. This is a dual position with shared responsibilities with the AJCC Young Adult Department.

 

Essential Position Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement innovative camp programs geared at retaining current campers as well as attracting new campers and their families
  • Create a comprehensive marketing and communication plan to promote all camp programs and to have ongoing communication with our camp families.
  • Supervise, recruit, train, schedule, and direct all camp staff
  • Work with camp bus drivers in all areas of transportation including schedules, vehicle inspection, and maintenance of buses
  • Develop and manage camp budget in conjunction with the Director of Youth and Family Programs.
  • Monitor and respond to all email and phone messages daily and return messages in a timely manner
  • Attend all meetings, trainings, conferences, and events as assigned
  • Maintain the highest quality of courtesy, friendliness and service toward members, visitors and other staff
  • Understand and support the AJCCs mission, vision, and values
  • Work effectively with all staff members
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned
