Shepherdsville Elementary is searching for a Special Education Teacher to support continuous growth in students. Candidates must be equipped with a strong ability to support students with disabilities and be able collaborate with assistants and regular education teachers to support students with disabilities across multiple settings.
Candidates must love students, have a passion for teaching and learning, value active student engagement, and maintain high expectations that will foster student growth. This majority of this position will be in a highly structured resource setting supporting students who receive special education services and developing plans and supports that will allow students to access the general education setting more regularly through co-teach and other appropriate supports. This candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing and delivering a program of instruction that supports high expectations for all students. The ideal candidate will also be able to work with other special education teachers in the department as well as regular education teachers to monitor progress of students and develop plans for supporting students in their least restrictive environment.
Candidates must hold certification for teaching students with Learning and Behavior Disorders (LBD)
This position is for the 2026-2027 school year. Salary based on board approved salary schedule for the 2026-2027 school year.
