ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Create, edit, and validate CMM programs using 2D drawings, CAD models, and GD&T specifications for new and existing parts.
- Perform setup, probing strategy development, and fixturing design/recommendations for accurate, repeatable, and efficient inspections.
- Conduct pre-production trials, in process checks, final inspections, and capability studies (Cp/Cpk).
- Analyze measurement data, generate detailed inspection reports, and interpret results to determine part conformance.
- Troubleshoot and maintain CMM equipment, including probe qualification, error resolution, and program revision logs.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve non-conformances, support root cause analysis, and recommend gage/fixture improvements.
- Train QA/QC members to conduct CMM operation and daily preventative maintenance.
- Stay current with advancements in CMM software, probing technology, and other metrology tools.
- Improve efficiency, accuracy, and repeatability of daily measurement requirements, through the implementation of automated equipment and data collection.
- Participate in IATF-16949 conformance activity.
- Store and maintain fixtures and gages to prevent damage and deterioration, while maintaining feature integrity and correct design levels consistent with Engineering Design Revisions.
- Prepare capital budget proposals, with a focus on ROI, to improve Quality Lab efficiency and reduce cost.

- Maintain awareness and understand the roles and responsibilities regarding the environmental policies, management system, and objectives and targets by attending the required training. Perform all tasks in accordance with the EMS procedures and practices and minimize the impact of their activities on the environment.

CMM experience including logic determination and program expansion. (MCOSMOS experience desired)
1-2 year manufacturing experience in a multi-dimensional layout role.
Complete knowledge of Statistical Process Control for Capability analysis and process improvements resulting from process stability.
1-2 years’ experience with automotive Check Fixtures concept, design, GR&R, and approval.
1-2 year experience in automotive industry (Toyota desired).
Advanced problem solving skills.
Experience in cross-culture environment.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Degree or Certification in Mechanical Drafting and Design
Experience / education in Geometric Dimension & Tolerance (GD&T)
3 Years experience programming and operating CMMs (MCOSMOS experience desired)
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Clear, concise written and verbal skills and problem solving skills required. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of team members.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret blueprints / drawings and technical specifications
Computer proficiency with MS Office products, particularly Excel.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to perform high level mathematical calculations including Algebra, Trigonometry and Geometry and apply mathematical operations such as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, and sampling theory.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to analyze and solve routine problems using established methods and processes.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED WORK HOURS
This is a full-time position and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional overtime throughout the week and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
