Job Description

Anadarko Public Schools is currently accepting applications for an Elementary Special Education Teacher. We are seeking a dedicated, collaborative educator who is committed to meeting the individual needs of students and ensuring academic and social-emotional growth for all learners.


Position Summary


The Early Elementary Special Education Teacher will provide specialized instruction and support services in accordance with students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), Oklahoma Academic Standards, and all applicable state and federal regulations. The teacher will work collaboratively with general education teachers, families, and support staff to promote student success in inclusive and small-group settings.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities




  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)




  • Provide direct and specialized instruction aligned with Oklahoma Academic Standards




  • Deliver services in inclusive, co-teaching, and/or small-group settings




  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation




  • Ensure compliance with IDEA and Oklahoma State Department of Education (OSDE) regulations




  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, administrators, and related service providers




  • Participate in professional development and team meetings




Qualifications




  • Valid Oklahoma Teaching Certificate in Special Education (Mild/Moderate or Severe/Profound)




  • Must meet all Oklahoma State Department of Education (OSDE) certification requirements




  • Knowledge of IDEA, state compliance procedures, and IEP development




  • Strong classroom management, organization, and communication skills




  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and staff




  • Successful completion of required criminal history background check and fingerprinting
