As a Custodian, you will assist in the inventory and stocking all supplies within areas of responsibility.
This position operates on a Monday - Friday schedule, 5:30 a.m. to 2:15 p.m.
What you will do:
- Assist in the inventory and stocking all supplies within areas of responsibility.
- Demonstrate safe work habits and observe all applicable worker safety practices, including the use of required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Plan, coordinate, and perform custodial work.
- Utilize the proper usage of cleaning equipment and materials.
- Use common cleaning materials and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Operate a variety of custodial equipment.
- Learn custodial procedures, methods, and schedules.
- Observe and report safety hazards and needs for maintenance and repair.
- Maintain tools and equipment in clean, working order.
- Move and rearrange furniture and equipment for meetings and special events!
- Perform minor repairs.
- Understand and carry out oral and written instructions/directions.
- Meet schedules and timelines.
- Work cooperatively with others.
- Make appropriate decisions without assistance from immediate supervisor.
- Perform physical labor; must be able to lift 50lbs.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Occasional overtime required for major events.
What You'll Bring:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, including time management with an ability to prioritize and set clear expectations.
- Interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy.
- Knowledge of modern cleaning methods including basic methods of white boards, carpets, furniture, walls, and fixtures
- Product labels/instructions for safe and appropriate use
- Proper methods, techniques, materials, disinfectants, tools, and equipment used in modern custodial work.
- Working knowledge of computers with an ability to open and read email, calendars, and event agendas.
