BCBA Assessment Writer Opportunity

Join United Care ABA in a specialized clinical role focused on high-level assessment, analysis, and documentation. This position is designed for BCBAs who want to develop and operate at an advanced level in assessment writing—producing precise, audit-ready reports that meet the requirements of each state and payer.

Why This Role Is Different

This is not a standard BCBA role. You will be trained and supported to become a high-level assessment writer, with a focus on:

  • Producing top-tier, audit-ready assessments

  • Aligning diagnoses, clinical observations, and treatment goals with DSM-5 criteria

  • Meeting varying state and insurance requirements with accuracy and consistency

  • Strengthening clinical reasoning and medical necessity justification

What You’ll Do

  • Conduct initial assessments (97151) and reassessments

  • Develop comprehensive, high-quality reports that clearly support diagnosis and treatment recommendations

  • Align all clinical findings and goals with DSM-5 criteria and functional impairments

  • Ensure documentation meets state-specific, payer-specific, and regulatory requirements

  • Provide strong, defensible medical necessity language to support authorization

  • Collaborate with intake, credentialing, and clinical teams to ensure smooth case progression

  • Participate in internal quality assurance and clinical review processes

What We Offer

  • Flexible scheduling (remote and hybrid options available)

  • Competitive compensation based on experience

  • Bonus opportunities tied to quality and productivity

  • Ongoing training to develop high-level assessment writing skills

  • Clinical mentorship and structured feedback

  • Opportunities to grow into QA, training, and leadership roles

What We’re Looking For

  • Active BCBA certification

  • Master’s degree in ABA or related field

  • Strong foundation in assessment and treatment planning

  • Interest in developing advanced clinical writing and diagnostic alignment skills

  • Understanding of medical necessity and insurance-driven documentation

  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical thinking

Why This Role Matters

High-quality assessments are the foundation of effective and ethical ABA services. This role ensures that every case begins with clarity, accuracy, and a strong clinical rationale—leading to better outcomes for clients and stronger compliance across the organization.
