The bookkeeper is responsible for performing accurate and timely bookkeeping and accounting tasks for assigned clients using QuickBooks. To be successful in this role, a bookkeeper must be service oriented with strong attention to detail and communication skills. As a 100% QuickBooks platform company, we require our staff to be QBO Certified. If you aren’t certified, you will be required to get certified once hired.

What does a Bookkeeper at Thrive do?
- Responsible for performing efficient and accurate bookkeeping work, which may include data entry, maintaining records, assisting with accounts receivable and accounts payable, and performing reconciliations
- Communicate with clients on a regular basis via phone, email, and video conferencing; explain financial reports and provide analysis and feedback as appropriate
- Meet with clients monthly to review their financials
- Respond to client requests within 24 business hours
- Generate accounting and financial reports including but not limited to Balance Sheet, P&L, Cash Flow Statements, A/R and A/P and other reports as requested
- Process payroll for clients as needed
- Complete monthly, quarterly, and yearly processes timely and accurately
- Stay up to date on accounting trends, knowledge, and software
- Perform administrative duties including keeping notes, records, and completing checklists in the client management system
- Represent company values including connection, collaboration, efficiency, and security on a daily basis
What education and skills are needed to become a Thrive Bookkeeper?
- Bachelors degree in accounting preferred or certified bookkeeper
- Minimum of three years of experience handling full cycle accounting
- Experience managing 15+ clients; prior experience working for a CPA firm a plus
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Online; QBO certified a plus
- Advanced Excel knowledge; ability to prepare complex spreadsheets
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
